A well-established commercial litigation law firm located in Houston's Galleria area is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of four years of experience supporting attorneys in a commercial litigation practice and possess strong organizational, communication, and case management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and litigation support to attorneys handling commercial litigation matters.
  • Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, motions, and discovery materials.
  • File documents in state and federal courts, including e-filing through applicable court systems.
  • Maintain case files, calendars, deadlines, and docketing systems.
  • Coordinate attorney schedules, meetings, depositions, mediations, and court appearances.
  • Manage document production, discovery responses, and trial preparation materials.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and vendors.
  • Assist with billing, expense reports, and time entry as needed.
  • Perform additional administrative and litigation support duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of legal assistant experience in a commercial litigation law firm.
  • Strong knowledge of Texas state and federal court procedures and e-filing systems.
  • Experience supporting multiple attorneys in a fast-paced litigation environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and legal case management software.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and work independently.
