A growing, project-based services organization is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to support high-volume AP operations in a fast-paced environment. This role offers exposure to a multi-entity structure and the opportunity to work closely with accounting leadership on process improvement and month-end activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Process high-volume vendor invoices, including coding and data entry
- Route invoices for approval and ensure proper documentation is obtained
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Communicate with internal teams and vendors regarding invoice and payment issues
- Review invoices for accuracy, including sales tax validation
- Assist with weekly check runs, wires, and ACH payments
- Maintain accurate records of payments, vendor files, and supporting documentation
- Monitor banking activity including ACH and positive pay transactions
- Support audit requests and compile required documentation
- Assist with intercompany transactions and reconciliations
- Help manage on-hold invoices, credits, and vendor offsets
- Contribute to month-end close activities
- Perform general ledger entries and other ad hoc accounting tasks as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; Associate’s degree in Accounting or Business preferred
- 3+ year of full-cycle Accounts Payable experience
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office tools
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies
Work Environment & Expectations
- Primarily office-based role with extended periods of computer work
- Occasional overtime may be required during peak cycles and month-end
- Minimal travel may be required for training or team meetings
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally
