Full service toxic tort, pharmaceutical, and catastrophic injury litigation firm with offices in Texas, California, and New York which practices in the areas of Mesothelioma/Asbestos litigation, other toxic exposures, products liability, general pharmaceutical, opioid litigation and catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death cases.
Job Duties and Required Qualifications: The qualified applicant will assist in the management and work-up of numerous asbestos/Mesothelioma personal injury and wrongful death law files and support one or more case-managing attorneys. Duties and qualifications are as follows:
• 5+ years litigation experience from a medium to large size firm in the paralegal field of plaintiffs’ asbestos litigation or other types of complex toxic tort litigation;
• Strong Organization, oral and written communication, and analytical skills;
• Detail oriented, adherence to deadlines, ability to multi-task; • Ability to learn quickly and function in a fast-paced environment;
• Draft and send assorted documents to clients, counsel and courts as needed, such as correspondence, deposition notices, contracts, briefs, motions, orders, petitions and discovery;
• Responsible for proper filing and service of all documents;
• Experience with e-filing and e-service in multiple jurisdictions;
• Experience with managing case deadlines across multiple cases filed in different jurisdictions;
• Experience in communicating with local counsel in other jurisdictions to get documents filed or served;
• Creative problem solver who takes initiative to accomplish tasks with a minimal level of supervision;
• A team player with a great attitude;
• Ability to maintain a busy caseload between 30-60 cases and support 1-2 attorneys;
• Experience with a variety of computer applications and internet programs: Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe, Outlook, LexisXpress File & Serve, LexisAdvance or Lexis.com (research), ECF/Pacer, NEOS (client database). • Must be able to type 40-50+ WPM
