Our client is seeking an experienced Transportation Associate to join our Dallas office. This is an exceptional opportunity to work with a nationally recognized transportation and logistics practice representing leading companies across the transportation sector, including motor carriers, logistics providers, freight brokers, rail operators, and supply chain businesses.

Position Overview

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of substantive experience handling transportation-related legal matters, including regulatory compliance, commercial transactions, litigation support, and risk management. Candidates should possess strong analytical, drafting, and client counseling skills, along with the ability to manage sophisticated matters in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on federal and state transportation regulations, including matters involving FMCSA, DOT, and related agencies
  • Draft, review, and negotiate transportation and logistics agreements, including carrier, brokerage, warehousing, and supply chain contracts
  • Support litigation and dispute resolution involving transportation and commercial matters
  • Counsel clients on regulatory compliance, operational risk, and emerging transportation industry developments
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, pleadings, and client advisories
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and partners on complex national and international matters
  • Maintain and strengthen client relationships through responsive and strategic legal service

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials
  • Licensed and in good standing with the Texas Bar or eligible for admission
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant transportation law experience at a law firm or in-house legal department
  • Experience with transportation, logistics, supply chain, or regulatory matters strongly preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Demonstrated commitment to client service and teamwork
