Civil Project Engineer
Fort Worth, TX | Fully Onsite
$100K to $125K base salary + bonus, stock & strong benefits
About the Opportunity
A well-established engineering firm is adding a Civil Project Engineer to support growth across commercial site development projects. This role is ideal for someone who is strong in design and production, communicates well with project stakeholders, and wants to grow into a clear Assistant PM/PM track.
Core Responsibilities
- Prepare civil site design packages for commercial developments.
- Design and coordinate grading, drainage, utilities, and paving.
- Produce complete plan sets and technical exhibits with strong quality control.
- Perform drainage and utility calculations, hydraulic analysis, and related technical support work.
- Identify design conflicts early and provide practical, constructible solutions.
- Coordinate with city staff, clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
- Address review comments and support timely resubmittals.
- Review design work from junior team members and provide clear technical guidance.
- Support construction-phase documentation, including RFIs, clarifications, and submittals.
- Assist project leadership with deliverables, schedules, and coordination.
Qualifications
- 3 to 5+ years of civil engineering experience in commercial site development.
- Project background in commercial sectors such as retail, healthcare, fuel stations, industrial, or similar.
- Proficiency in Civil 3D.
- PE license preferred, or active progress toward licensure.
- Ability to balance hands-on production with increasing client-facing and project coordination responsibilities.
- Strong engineering judgment, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Clear communication skills with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Ability to mentor junior staff and support drafting/design quality standards.
