Summary

Litigation firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic Litigation Group. This role supports assigned attorneys and collaborates closely with the broader team to ensure efficient case management and high-quality client service.

 

The ideal candidate is detail?oriented, proactive, and skilled in organizing, analyzing, researching, writing, and communicating. This position involves coordinating complex schedules, preparing legal documents, and interacting with clients and third parties—often during challenging circumstances. Strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential for success.

 

Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Requirements

  • Work directly under the supervision of assigned attorney(s) and provide comprehensive support to the Litigation Group.

  • Draft and prepare legal documents—including notices, discovery responses, affidavits, subpoenas, trial exhibits, correspondence, and more—for attorney review and approval.

  • Prepare detailed deposition summaries for use in mediation and trial.

  • Demonstrate working knowledge of e?filing procedures.

  • Communicate effectively with clients, court personnel, opposing counsel, third parties, investigators, medical providers, and experts; maintain consistent and professional contact with all parties.

  • Conduct factual investigations and analyze file data.

  • Review, organize, and maintain case records in accordance with firm procedures.

  • Maintain highly organized electronic and hard?copy files, ensuring accuracy and compliance with firm standards.

  • Exhibit consistent follow?through and the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines.

  • Coordinate complex, multi?calendar scheduling for attorneys and staff, including meetings, hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial settings.

  • Attend client meetings, hearings, mediations, and trials as assigned.

  • Ensure proper indexing, filing, scanning, and file management, including opening, closing, shredding, and record retention procedures.

  • Log time and submit case?related billing entries promptly and accurately.

  • Effectively present information and respond to inquiries from attorneys, clients, vendors, and external parties.

  • Provide monthly case updates to the team.

  • Collaborate effectively; demonstrate strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Deliver exceptional customer service and exhibit strong people skills.

  • Exercise superior problem?solving skills and work independently with sound judgment.

  • Maintain professional competency through continuing education, seminars, workshops, and relevant affiliations.

  • Possess familiarity with the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure.

  • Ability to sit for extended periods and occasionally bend, stoop, and lift up to 25 lbs.

Qualifications

  • Paralegal certificate is required.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.

  • Minimum of 4–5 years of experience handling personal injury litigation (defense) in a Texas law firm.

  • Strong understanding of all phases of litigation discovery.

  • Minimum typing speed of 65 WPM and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Adobe software.

  • Experience with practice and case management systems (e.g., iManage) and timekeeping/billing software.

  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly convey and interpret information.

  • Must maintain strict confidentiality.

  • Willingness to work additional hours or weekends as necessary.

  • Exceptional communication, customer service, organizational, time?management, and attention?to?detail skills.

  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred, but not required.
