Drilling & Completions (D&C) Engineer
Up to 130K + bonus 
Central Houton

Position Summary
Responsible for planning and executing safe, efficient, and cost-effective drilling, completions, and workover operations. Collaborates cross-functionally with operations, safety, regulatory, engineering, and procurement teams to develop and implement procedures. Provides technical guidance to field personnel and supports ongoing operations. This role includes periodic field travel and reports to the D&C Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain procedures and SOPs to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations
  • Review well history and evaluate feasibility of workover plans
  • Prepare cost estimates, AFEs, and support economic evaluations
  • Coordinate with procurement for vendor services, POs, and cost tracking
  • Provide operational support to field teams, including troubleshooting and real-time guidance
  • Optimize scheduling to improve efficiency, profitability, and timelines
  • Review daily reports for accuracy in operations, costs, and equipment usage
  • Analyze performance and cost data; conduct post-job reviews to identify improvements
  • Support regulatory compliance, filings, and reporting requirements
  • Manage vendor performance and service quality
  • Review and approve invoices and field tickets
  • Promote and uphold safety standards and regulatory compliance
  • Identify and implement improvements in technology, efficiency, and cost
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in drilling, completions, or workover operations
  • Strong knowledge of well control, casing design, and well architecture
  • Ability to independently plan and execute routine and complex operations (e.g., repairs, fishing, leak detection)
  • Experience with fishing tools and wireline log interpretation (CBL, ultrasonic, leak detection)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and D&C reporting software (e.g., Wellview, OpenWells, WellEZ)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and multitasking skills
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience developing workover procedures, particularly for SWDs
  • Familiarity with WellEZ
