Trade Compliance Analyst / Senior – Power / Algorithmic Trading

? Job Summary
Member of the Compliance team reporting to the Head of Compliance (Houston, TX).
The Compliance Analyst plays a key role in maintaining and enhancing governance, controls, and regulatory frameworks related to derivatives and commodities trading.
This role supports a wide range of regulatory obligations across multiple commodities and financial trading activities, including position limits, regulatory recordkeeping, and training initiatives.
The position works closely with stakeholders across:
- Front Office (Trading)
- Operations
- Middle & Back Office
- Credit
- IT
to identify, monitor, and manage regulatory risk across derivatives and physical commodity trading activities.
This is an excellent opportunity for a self-starter interested in learning how trading, regulation, and compliance frameworks intersect in a fast-paced energy environment.
? Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Support compliance with financial and physical regulations (CFTC, FERC, ISOs, ERCOT, PUCT)
- Monitor and coordinate exchange position limits and reporting requirements
- Track and communicate exchange rule updates (ICE Futures US, CME Group MRANs)
- Draft and distribute compliance communications related to trading activities
- Review and update compliance policies and procedures
- Support trade surveillance and communications monitoring
- Assist with regulatory inquiries, investigations, and remediation actions
- Contribute to compliance risk metrics and reporting frameworks
- Support compliance training programs and execution
- Help improve compliance controls, systems, and tools
- Collaborate across business functions to strengthen governance frameworks
- Additional duties as assigned
? Requirements – Education, Competencies & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, or related field
- Experience in energy trading or financial markets
- Strong ability to manage multiple priorities independently
- High attention to detail and analytical thinking
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proactive problem-solving mindset
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams
? Preferred Experience
- Prior experience in power or natural gas markets
- Exposure to algorithmic or electronic trading environments
- Experience with tools such as Power BI, Python, Alteryx, or similar platforms
? Compensation
- $150K+ base salary + competitive bonus
