Position Overview
A privately held, multi-entity organization is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant I to support accounting operations for one plant location and several smaller affiliated entities.
This role offers strong exposure to operational accounting, project cost tracking, fixed assets, and monthly close processes. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and eager to grow within a collaborative finance team.
Key Responsibilities

Perform full-cycle accounting for one plant and select smaller entities

Partner with operations to monitor project status and analyze cost center performance

Maintain fixed asset records including additions, transfers, disposals, and roll-forward schedules

Prepare bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations

Record monthly accruals and reclassification journal entries as needed

Manage billing for smaller projects

Adhere to monthly close deadlines and reporting schedules

Support internal and external audits by preparing requested documentation

Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements

Research and resolve accounting issues

Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
-
Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting experience (industry or public accounting)

Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint

Work Environment & Schedule

Standard hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

On-site required during first 90 days for onboarding and training

Hybrid schedule available after initial 90 days (three in-office days required)
