Legal Billing Manager

Our client is seeking an experienced Legal Billing Manager to oversee the full-cycle legal billing process and support the firm's finance operations. This role works closely with attorneys, accounting, and the Finance Director to ensure accurate billing, trust accounting, e-billing, and client account management.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the complete billing cycle, including time release, prebill generation, billing edits, and invoice processing.
• Review and edit billing narratives to ensure compliance with client guidelines.
• Handle trust accounting, retainer balances, and unallocated cash reconciliation.
• Maintain client billing records, rates, and billing arrangements.
• Generate, audit, and submit LEDES invoices through e-billing platforms.
• Collaborate with attorneys and accounting to ensure timely and accurate invoicing.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of legal billing experience in a law firm environment.
• Strong knowledge of LEDES billing, UTBMS codes, trust accounting, and WIP reconciliation.
• Experience with legal management systems and e-billing platforms such as CounselLink, Legal Tracker, Brightflag, LegalX, Tymetrix, CounselGo, or BillingPoint.
• Advanced Excel skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong written communication and organizational skills.
• Litigation experience required.
• NetDocuments experience strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting construction litigation and employment law practices is a significant plus.
