Company: Full service toxic tort, pharmaceutical, and catastrophic injury litigation firm with offices in Texas, California, and New York which practices in the areas of Mesothelioma/Asbestos litigation, other toxic exposures, products liability, general pharmaceutical, opioid litigation and catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death cases.
Job Duties and Required Qualifications: The qualified applicant will be responsible for the management and work-up of numerous assigned personal injury and products liability cases from intake through litigation, as well as supporting one or more case-managing attorneys. Duties and qualifications are as follows:
- 5+ years litigation experience from a medium to large size firm in the paralegal field of plaintiffs’ personal injury and products liability litigation, required experience with mass torts.
- Experience with ordering, summarizing, and breaking down medical/billing records for paid vs. incurred calculations;
- Ability to negotiate lien reductions with providers and facilities to maximize recovery for clients;
- Strong Organization, oral and written communication, and analytical skills;
- Detail oriented, adherence to deadlines, ability to multi-task;
- Ability to learn quickly and function in a fast-paced environment;
- Draft and send assorted documents to clients, counsel and courts as needed, such as correspondence, deposition notices, contracts, briefs, motions, orders, petitions and discovery;
- Responsible for proper filing and service of all documents;
- Experienced with e-filing and e-service in multiple jurisdictions; must have experience using online file and serve portals such as Pacer, ECF, Lexis File & Serve Xpress, TxFile.gov, etc.
- Experienced with managing case deadlines across multiple cases filed in different jurisdictions;
- Experienced in communicating with local counsel in other jurisdictions to get documents filed or served;
- Creative problem solver who takes initiative to accomplish tasks with a minimal level of supervision;
- Ability to work with/around various attorney personalities;
- A team player with a great attitude;
- Ability to maintain a busy caseload across multiple case types: 100-300 cases
- Experienced with a variety of computer applications and internet programs: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, LexisXpress File & Serve, LexisAdvance or Lexis.com (research), ECF/Pacer, Needles (client database).
- Must be able to type 40-50+ WPM
Compensation: Salary will be based on experience and qualifications. Competitive benefit package, including 401K, medical/dental and paid vacation offered.
Job Type: Full Time
Schedule: 8hr/day – 5 days/wk – In Office
