Full-service toxic tort, pharmaceutical, and catastrophic injury litigation firm with offices in Texas, New York, and California which practices in the areas of asbestos litigation and other toxic exposures, products liability, general pharmaceutical, opioid litigation, climate litigation, and catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death cases.
The paralegal in this position will work alongside an intake team to process intake for all incoming personal injury, mass tort and wrongful death cases.
Responsibilities:

Experience in the Intake of case files for the firm’s various practice areas (identified above);

Provide support for one to two intake attorneys;

Performing client intake functions via mail, telephone, and email communication with potential clients;

Sending intake questionnaires/authorizations to potential clients;

Drafting and sending various contracts to clients, local counsel, referring counsel;

Understanding and application of contract terms and fee agreements;

Conducting research to ascertain proper entity and service information;

Maintaining and updating case management information in client database;

Drafting, editing, and finalizing original and amended petitions and complaints for various state and federal court filings throughout the country;

Responsible for proper filing and service of all complaints and citations;

Experienced with e-filing and e-service in multiple jurisdictions;

Ability to create and/or track firm intakes, including number of cases, referral sources, accepts/rejects;

Experience with calculating SOL’s in personal injury and wrongful death cases.
Qualifications:
-
3+ years of paralegal experience at a medium to large-size plaintiff litigation firm, with proven experience drafting and filing complaints

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Strict adherence to deadlines

Strong organization and analytical skills with great attention to detail

Ability to learn quickly and function in a fast-paced environment;

Creative problem solver who takes initiative to accomplish tasks with a minimal level of supervision;

A team player with a great attitude;

Experience with a variety of computer applications, internet programs and court-filing portals: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, LexisXpress File & Serve, LexisAdvance (research), Efile.TxCourts.gov, NYSCEF; ECF/Pacer, Needles or Neos (client databases).
