Position Overview: Safekeeping & Operations Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and client-focused professional to support our safekeeping and enhanced operations functions. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality servicing for SBA, USDA, and other structured loan products while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and an exceptional client experience.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily safekeeping and operational activities in partnership with internal teams
  • Deliver end-to-end servicing for SBA GICs, SBA COOFs, and USDA guaranteed loans
  • Maintain and track safekeeping receipts and asset records with a high degree of accuracy
  • Issue proactive Debit/Credit advices for principal and interest payments, payoffs, and redemptions
  • Process payments via Fed wire and ACH while ensuring timeliness and precision
  • Manage the collection and disbursement of principal and interest in accordance with contractual terms
  • Perform due diligence to verify borrower status and ensure payment accuracy
  • Reconcile discrepancies between lenders and investors, including correcting misapplied payments
  • Prepare and distribute detailed monthly reports outlining holdings, transactions, and balances
  • Partner with third-party agents and lenders to confirm loan status and resolve issues
  • Support ongoing process improvements and special projects

Client Service & Problem-Solving Focus

This role plays a critical part in delivering an exceptional client experience by proactively identifying and resolving complex issues, including:

  • Payment deferments and borrower accommodations
  • Loan modifications (rate, maturity, amortization changes)
  • Defaults and formal demand processes
  • Prepayments and penalty calculations
  • Documentation and implementation of approved loan term changes
