Job Title: Water Management Engineering Manager (Contract)
Location: Midland, TX (open to Houston-based candidates with travel to Midland twice per month)
Compensation: $72 – $77 per hour, based on experience
Overview:
We are seeking a contract Water Management Engineering Manager to lead chemical programs, solids control initiatives, and source/reuse projects. This role involves technical leadership, vendor management, and collaboration across departments to optimize costs, improve operational reliability, and support revenue growth. The position reports to the SVP of Operations and Engineering/Planning.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead chemical program efforts: manage vendors, monitor treatment effectiveness, and analyze well integrity data

Oversee solids control programs: direct tank cleanup priorities, manage vendors, and ensure safe operations

Manage source and reuse projects: prepare proposals, manage operators, coordinate land access, and ensure project execution

Provide data analysis for well performance, pad management, and facility retention times to maximize recovery

Collaborate with procurement and operations on purchase orders, budgets, and scheduling

Develop cost estimates, assist with AFEs, and ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards

Minimum Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Petroleum, or Chemical)

5+ years of oil & gas, water management, or midstream industry experience

Strong vendor and budget management skills

Knowledge of basic hydraulics and ability to troubleshoot field operations

Strong communication and leadership abilities
-
Ability to travel regularly for site visits (Midland and field locations)

Preferred Qualifications:
-
Experience in the Permian/Delaware Basin
-
Familiarity with Texas and New Mexico oil & gas regulations and permitting

Business development experience in source water and reuse projects
