Development Accountant
Downtown Houston – In-office

Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly construction draw packages for lenders.
- Ensure proper coding of project related invoices.
- Reconcile draws to general ledger on a monthly basis.
- Managing the preparation of monthly invoice packages for all billable projects, including all applicable backup.
- Schedule monthly meetings with the development/project management team to review upcoming draw packages.
- Process funding requests and draw requests for projects with construction loans.
- Strong ability to reconcile accounts, expenses, and perform various analyses, with excellent attention to detail.
- Prepare and review monthly financial reports, project financial statements, and other necessary financial documentation.
- Manage and track the funding of capital for each project, whether through partner/investor equity or loan funding.
- Coordinate payment of invoices related to construction draws with Accounts Payable.
- Work closely with construction/development team.
- Assist the Sr. VP of Finance/Accounting and Accountants with gathering of development data for external auditors.
This individual will need:
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting
- Real Estate or Construction experience required
- Proficiency in Excel/Microsoft Office required (must be very proficient in Excel and feel comfortable working with large spreadsheets that contain links)
- Must be organized with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a high level of accuracy are also required
- Proficiency in Accounting software
- Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat preferred
- Proficiency in DropBox
- Professional appearance and attitude
- Team player is a must
- Excellent communicator who can communicate well with all levels throughout the company
- Fast learner with ability to learn on their own
- Must be able to multi-task and adapt well to change
- Good listener
