Overview: As the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of our company, you will play a pivotal role in providing strategic and operational leadership to ensure the efficient, compliant, and profitable delivery of our mortgage products and services. Reporting directly to the President & CEO, you will oversee various critical functions such as loan origination, underwriting, closing, post-closing, servicing, technology, and customer operations. Your responsibilities will include optimizing production, ensuring loan quality, strengthening investor relationships, and driving operational excellence to support our company’s growth and long-term strategy.

Required Skills:

  • Proven track record of developing and executing operational strategies that align with company goals and drive profitability.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and lead a high-performing team of operational executives and managers.
  • In-depth knowledge of mortgage operations, credit risk management, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in managing GSE, investor, and agency relationships.
  • Ability to analyze operational metrics, establish KPIs, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and serve as a key advisor to executive leadership.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • MBA or advanced degree in a related field.
  • Experience in enhancing digital mortgage capabilities and implementing technology solutions for operational efficiency.
  • Expertise in process innovation and analytics-driven decision-making.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of senior leadership experience in mortgage banking or financial services, overseeing loan origination and servicing operations.
  • Proven success in scaling operational infrastructure, managing large teams, and leading process improvement initiatives in a regulated environment.

Other Requirements:

  • Oversight of Mortgage Operations, Servicing, and Credit Risk Management.
  • Responsible for overall direction, performance, and compliance of operational departments.
  • Ensure all management practices align with company policy, fair employment standards, and applicable laws.
