Downtown Dallas law firm seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Legal Assistant to support attorneys and ensure the efficient operation of the firm. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, proactive, and comfortable handling a variety of administrative and legal support tasks in a fast-paced legal environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys

  • Prepare, draft, proofread, and format legal documents and correspondence

  • Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate deadlines

  • File legal documents with courts and administrative agencies (electronic and/or physical)

  • Maintain and organize case files and client records

  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and vendors

  • Conduct basic legal and factual research as directed

  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail, email, and phone communications

  • Assist with billing, time entry, and expense tracking as needed

  • Ensure compliance with firm policies, court rules, and confidentiality requirements

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Previous experience as a legal assistant or in a law office preferred

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and legal practice software

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

  • Professional demeanor and commitment to confidentiality

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with court filing systems and legal terminology

  • Experience supporting litigation, transactional, or specialized practice areas (as applicable)

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
