The Mortgage Loan Processor is responsible for the comprehensive review, processing, and coordination of residential loan products from application through funding. This role ensures timely, accurate loan documentation, clear communication with members and internal teams, and compliance with lending guidelines. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, understands mortgage and home equity products, and can proactively manage a loan pipeline.
Perform comprehensive review and analysis of residential loan products, including:
- First Mortgages
- Home Equity Loans
- Home Equity Lines of Credit (HELOCs)
- Lot Loans
- Construction Loans
- Home Improvement Loans (purchase and refinance)
- Review loan approval conditions and ensure timely, accurate resolution
- Calculate basic borrower income in accordance with lending guidelines
- Perform first-line review of appraisals and title documentation
- Provide first-level escalation support for loan-related issues
- Pipeline Management & Communication
- Proactively manage assigned loan pipeline to ensure deadlines are met
- Establish timely and proactive communication routines with members and/or branch personnel
- Provide regular loan status updates and follow up on outstanding conditions
- Coordinate closely with internal teams to ensure smooth loan progression
- Support Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) conversions
- Support Home Improvement Loan draw conversions
- Review and monitor HELOC expiration reports (C-View)
- Prepare and distribute HELOC expiration letters (3-month and 9-month notifications)
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support loan operations
Qualifications & Skills
- Prior experience processing or closing mortgage and home equity loans preferred
- Strong understanding of residential loan products and documentation
- Ability to calculate basic income accurately
- Familiarity with appraisal and title review processes
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple loans simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Customer-focused with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
