Our client a multidisciplinary law firm with nearly 300 attorneys and advisors strategically located throughout the Southern U.S. is adding a paralegal
Ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of administrative and regulatory processes involving the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) and/or the Texas Railroad Commission (RRC). This position involves supporting attorneys in regulatory filings, hearings, and compliance matters related to energy, utilities, and telecommunications.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare, draft, and file documents and pleadings with the PUCT and/or RRC, including applications, interventions, comments, motions, and compliance filings.

Assist attorneys in the preparation of testimony, discovery, and hearing exhibits.

Conduct legal and regulatory research on Texas statutes, administrative rules, and agency decisions.

Monitor regulatory dockets and maintain internal tracking of relevant agency proceedings.

Coordinate with clients, experts, and governmental agencies to gather and manage information for cases and filings.

Organize and maintain electronic case files and manage docketing of deadlines and agency schedules.

Provide administrative support during contested case hearings and rulemaking proceedings.

Prepare summaries of regulatory changes and assist attorneys in advising clients on compliance matters.
Qualifications

Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree required; Paralegal certification from an ABA-approved program preferred.

Minimum of 3 years of relevant paralegal experience, with at least 1 year involving the PUCT or RRC.

Familiarity with the PUCT Interchange, RRC Online System, and related regulatory portals.

Strong understanding of Texas administrative law and regulatory procedures.

Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with legal research platforms such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
