QHSE Specialist STX
Contractor; up to $40 per hour
Kenedy, TX

Duties:
 

  • Support and advise STX operations team on procedures, guidelines, and best practices
  • Assist with HSE program and management of HSE, KPA system
  • Ensure safety program compliance through KPA EHS on-line system
  • Assist with safety program implementations/audit processes of policies & procedures
  • Participate and often facilitate weekly, monthly, and quarterly safety meetings
  • Assist with incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis processes
  • Provide/participates in company, federal, state, local, and customer required trainings
  • Drive to work sites to ensure safety compliance
  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, and track to completion
  • Assist with regional activities and provide support as needed
  • Contribute positive influence and change-management with safety culture
  • Identify and appraise acts, behaviors, and conditions producing incidents and financial losses
  • Evaluate potential extent of injuries resulting from accidents
  • Assist and help with fleet management
  • Adhere to all safety, environmental, and company policies and procedures?

Qualifications:
 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quality Safety and Health, or relevant experience
  • Familiarity with OSHA, NIOSH, PEC, and NSC a MUST; 3 years of oil and gas HIGHLY PREFERRED  
  • Working knowledge of QHSE Management Systems A MUST; Microsoft Office Suite a MUST
  • Excellent leadership and Interpersonal skills, teamwork and communication; organized and strong time management,  self-motivated, and eager to affect change; ability to provide solutions to identified gaps
  • Industry recognized QHSE training certifications and professional designations (i.e., OSHA 10, OSHA 30, NCCER, CHST, OHST, COSS, CSHO, etc.) HIGHLY PREFERRED
  • Manage and coach personnel through visible leadership – performance management, talent review processes, and succession planning tools
  • Ability to work with others on a team to accomplish established goals; collaborative; positive

  • May include rotational and or shift work, varying weather conditions, Indoor/Outdoor, travel>50% and be on call for 24-Hours
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be deemed insurable by the Company’s insurance provider (possible company vehicle provided)
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 lbs.
  • Reports to VP of HSE
